Emergency Dentist in Sandy Springs, GA
A cracked molar on a Saturday afternoon, a crown that comes off in the middle of dinner, a toothache that kept you up all night: dental emergencies rarely wait for a good moment. If you live or work in Sandy Springs, Kabani Dental holds time each day for same-day emergency care at our office on Powers Ferry Road in Marietta. Call (770) 980-0432 and tell us what is going on, and we will do our best to see you the same day.
Dr. Shaila Kabani, DDS has more than 20 years of clinical experience and advanced training from the Pankey Institute. In an emergency, the most important decision is often whether a tooth can be saved, and that judgment comes from years of making it.
Getting to Us From Sandy Springs
Sandy Springs sits just minutes from our Marietta location. Whether you are coming from the Perimeter area, Dunwoody, or anywhere along GA-400, the drive is simple, and our office is also reachable from I-285. When you call, our team can tell you the best way to reach us from where you are and what to do on the way.
What Counts as a Dental Emergency
If you are not sure whether your situation qualifies, call us. We would rather talk you through something minor than have you wait on something serious. These situations should be seen as soon as possible:
- A severe or constant toothache, especially with swelling, fever, or a bad taste in the mouth
- A knocked-out tooth, where the first hour makes the biggest difference
- A cracked, chipped, or broken tooth, particularly if it is sharp or the inside of the tooth is exposed
- A lost filling, crown, or veneer that leaves the tooth unprotected
- Swelling in the gums, jaw, or face
- Bleeding that does not stop after an injury or extraction
- A broken or painful denture or appliance
What to Do Before You Arrive
If a permanent tooth has been knocked out, handle it by the crown, not the root. Rinse it gently if it is dirty and, if you can, place it back in the socket. If that is not possible, keep it in milk and come to us right away. For a cracked or broken tooth, rinse your mouth with warm water and hold a cold compress against the outside of your cheek. If a crown has come off, bring it with you. For a toothache, rinse with warm salt water and use over-the-counter pain relief as directed on the label, and avoid placing aspirin directly on the gum.
If swelling is spreading or you have trouble breathing or swallowing, go to the nearest emergency room first. That is a medical emergency, and we will see you once it is under control.
What Happens at an Emergency Visit
We start with a clear diagnosis. Digital X-rays and 3D CBCT imaging let us see cracks, infection, and bone damage that a standard film can miss. Then we focus on relieving your pain and protecting the tooth. Sometimes that means definitive treatment during the same visit, and sometimes it means a stable temporary fix while we plan the right long-term repair. Either way, we explain what we found in plain language before treatment begins, so you know what is wrong and what comes next.
Same-Day Crowns and Repairs
When a tooth needs a crown, our CAD/CAM technology can often make it possible to design, mill, and place a porcelain crown in a single appointment. For a Sandy Springs patient who has already lost a day to pain, that can mean one trip instead of several. If a tooth is infected, root canal treatment can remove the infection and keep the natural tooth. If a tooth cannot be saved, we will talk through your options for replacing it, including dental implants.
Nervous About Going to the Dentist in Pain?
Most people who arrive with a dental emergency are dealing with both pain and worry. Our treatment rooms have televisions with Netflix and noise-canceling headphones, and nitrous oxide is available for patients who need help staying calm. Let our front desk know when you call or check in, and we will plan the visit around you.
Insurance and Payment
Most PPO dental plans cover emergency care at least in part, and we work with Delta Dental, MetLife, Cigna, Aetna, Humana, United Concordia, and UnitedHealthcare. We also accept HSA and FSA payments. If you do not have insurance, our in-office membership plan and CareCredit and Cherry financing are available. In an emergency, our first priority is getting you out of pain, and we will go over costs with you before any treatment is done.
